Watch a video of Sen. Scott Brown telling jokes on stage at the DC Improv.
It's almost always rocky when politicians try to be comedians. It's not their job, so you really can't hold it against them. But let's be honest: when they try, they are typically pretty bad.
This week Sen. Scott Brown participated in a "Funniest Celebrity in Washington Contest," an event that produced video evidence that Sen. Brown is unlikely to be named the funniest anything anywhere any time soon.
"I think I'm funny," Sen. Brown told the crowd at the DC Improv. "Remember, I'm the guy who said my daughters are available on national TV. Now, I thought that was hilarious, but obviously they didn't."
After a "ceremonial first joke" about being mistaken for Mitt Romney ("Aren't you that handsome politician from Massachusetts?"), Brown unleashed this groaner:
"What did the mother bullet say to the father bullet? Let’s have a BB."
After a joke like that, it comes as no surprise to learn that Brown did not win the competition. Politico notes that The Daily Caller senior editor Jamie Weinstein took the top prize.
